Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Iran has the right to respond to the recent U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities. He also emphasized that the United States must take full responsibility for the consequences of such attacks.

Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the OIC meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, on Sunday (June 22), Araghchi said the U.S. has blatantly violated all international rules and regulations by targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.

He warned that the U.S. must be held fully accountable for the severe consequences of these aggressive actions.

Highlighting Iran’s right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter, Araghchi stated that Tehran reserves the right to respond to the American attacks in various ways.

The Iranian Foreign Minister firmly declared that Iran will never compromise its sovereignty, independence, or territorial integrity. He stressed that Tehran will utilize “all possible and necessary tools and solutions” to defend itself.

He further added that only a halt to aggression against Iran could open the door for Tehran to consider resuming diplomatic talks.

On Saturday, the United States carried out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Later, President Trump confirmed the successful execution of the attacks, announcing that the U.S. had struck all three targets.
