By the evening of the game, he had already made history: kicking a 41-yard game-winner to help the Bills defeat the Baltimore Ravens 41-40 in one of the season’s most dramatic openers.

Making a First Impression in the NFL

The Bills’ locker room initially mistook Prater for a coach rather than a player. “He walks into the special teams meeting, and I thought, ‘We got a new coach,’” tight end Jackson Hawes joked. Quarterback Josh Allen met Prater just two days before the game and described him as “giving 100% from day one.”
