Lizelle Lee was the star of the final, smashing an unbeaten 77 off just 44 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes. England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt supported with a 35-run contribution off 27 deliveries, helping the Hurricanes chase down 138 with ease. Nicola Carey hit the winning runs, sealing victory with five overs to spare.
Scorchers Fall Short in Batting
Perth Scorchers batted first but managed only 137-5 in 20 overs. Sophie Devine top-scored with 34, while Linsey Smith impressed with figures of 2-8. Despite a few early drops by Hobart fielders, the Scorchers’ batting line-up struggled to maintain momentum on the tricky pitch.
Hurricanes’ Dominant Performance
Hurricanes’ openers raced to 49-0 in the first five overs, setting the tone for a commanding chase. Lee brought up a 32-ball fifty with aggressive hitting, demonstrating why she was the tournament’s leading run-scorer. Sciver-Brunt and Carey ensured the chase stayed comfortable, leaving the Scorchers unable to recover.
