The leaders of the Arab world have met to resolve the Palestinian crisis through the formation of two separate states. The international conference started today Monday in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. In addition to the formation of the Palestinian state, the Arab-Islamic summit will discuss measures to stop the ongoing military conflict in various countries of the Middle East, including Lebanon, and pressuring the international community in this regard.

A conference of Arab leaders was held in Riyadh at the end of last October with the aim of ending the Gaza war and establishing a Palestinian state. After that conference, the conference was announced again at the beginning of November. The Saudi Press Agency, the state-owned news agency of Saudi Arabia, said that Israel’s aggression in Palestine, Gaza and Lebanon forced the leaders of the Arab and Muslim world to take this urgent step.

In a statement regarding the conference, it has been said that, in addition to putting pressure on the international community to take effective steps to stop the ongoing attacks, how to restore sustainable peace and stability in the Middle East, in addition to putting pressure on the international community to stop Israel’s aggression, protect civilians, stand by the citizens of Palestine and Lebanon, build consensus on their position. It will be discussed in the conference.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati arrived in Riyadh on Sunday evening to attend the conference.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif are also expected to attend the conference. However, Iranian President Massoud Pezheshkian will not attend the conference due to his busy schedule with state affairs.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman gave a speech at the opening of the conference on Monday. “We reject the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people,” he said.

A Palestinian state is not ‘realistic’

Israel has dismissed demands for the establishment of a Palestinian state amid the start of the conference on the two-state solution in Riyadh. Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said yesterday that the establishment of a Palestinian state cannot be a realistic goal.

In response to a question about normalizing Israel’s relations with Arab countries through the establishment of a Palestinian state, Gideon Saar said, “I think it is not a realistic position today.” We must be realistic. And if the Palestinian state is established, it will be the state of Hamas.

This time the ground attack in the west of Gaza

Israeli forces have launched a ground offensive in the western part of the besieged Gaza Strip. Yesterday, Monday, Israel sent tanks to the Nuseirat refugee camp in West Gaza. At least 11 people were killed in shelling from the tank.

Palestinian refugees said that when Israeli soldiers started entering the refugee camp with tanks, panic spread among the residents. One named Zaik Mohammad said, “The tank attack on the refugee camp was unexpected by many people. When the tank came, everyone started running in panic. But many are trapped. At this time, many people are seen pleading with the Israeli army to get out of the refugee camp.
